Bespoke Design Process

Our Bespoke Design Service starts with a free, no-obligation consultation with Anna or Sophie that will normally last up to an hour.

Bespoke means that each dress is individually designed and made especially for you.

All gowns are handmade by Sophie and Anna and their assistants.

The design for your wedding dress will be taken from your ideas, pictures or sketches, conversation between yourself and the designer, images saved to your iPad or phone and perhaps a mood board or scrap book of ideas you have collected. Please feel free to bring as much material as you wish to help Sophie or Anna get an idea of what your dress should look like.

After discussions regarding the look you want, your shape, personality, personal tastes, etc, Anna or Sophie will create a sketch or sketches of your design and will then suggest the fabric, lace and materials and fittings that they recommend.

Once you have decided on your design, fabrics and materials you will be asked to complete an agreement which details everything you can expect as a customer as well as the final pricing, consultation schedule, payment schedule and eventual completion date.

Please note that as all dresses are made to your individual design and are different from other dresses previously made it is impossible to stock a range for trying on. However there will usually be a number of dresses from Sophie and Annna's Collection that you can examine and inspect to get a feel for our previous work.

In a perfect world we suggest at least 4 - 6 months from commission to collection. We can design and create your bespoke wedding dress in a shorter time than this so please contact us if you require your dress in a shorter time-scale.

Most wedding dresses take between 40 to 70 hours of sewing to create depending on the complexity of the design and fabrics and material used. Once your deposit is paid the sewing time is booked into our schedule.

Consultations are by appointment and last approximately one hour. During the consultation you can discuss all the ideas you have for your dress and Anna or Sophie will sketch/design your dress in detail. They will suggest fabrics and materials.

40% deposit on ordering (Non refundable)

40% before the final fabrics are ordered and cut

20% balance to clear by completion

At the time of you commissioning your bespoke wedding dress Sophie or Anna will give you a date for completion. This may be some weeks before your actual wedding day. This is to ensure that our facilities are free and available to complete other dresses that will be in the process of manufacture and completion. We are sure you will understand.

You will be asked to attend between 3 - 6 fittings depending on the complexity of the design and you should allow between 1 and and 1.5 hours for each fitting.

You will be asked to bring along the same undergarments that you will wear on your wedding day to all fittings and shoes of the same height that you be wearing to the last three fittings.

We would ask you, where possible, to keep the number of guests that you bring with you to a maximum of two to ensure a more intimate and calm environment which is essential where attention to detail is required.

We would also respectfully ask, because the nature of what we do includes pins, fittings, scissors etc, that young children and babies are held by a parent or Guardian at all times for their safety and to avoid distraction from the essential attention to details required.

Because your dress is made in stages especially for you alterations can usually be easily made in most cases.
